Alice is a small town, and my favorite tours are the Flying Doctor Service, the School of the Air, the Telegraph Station, the Desert Park, and Take a Camel to dinner, which gives you a camel ride along the Todd River bed with a nice barbecue afterwards. The Ghan train comes in twice a week from Adelaide. Due to the abundance of termites, all railroad ties are made of concrete. We use a working cattle station outside of town to stay at if the client wants to experience outback living with nice accommodation and good food.
