Covering some 20 000 square kilometres, Kakadu is Australias largest and arguably most famous national park. Kakadus vast wetlands is home to one of Australias largest and most diverse bird populations and carry outstanding natural and cultural significance. Visit Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and gain an insight into the cultural and historical significance the park holds for its traditional owners, before joining a guided cruise along Kakadu's most famous wetland area, Yellow Water billabong. Keep a lookout for the powerful saltwater crocodiles, diverse birdlife and beautiful waterlilies. After lunch, travel to Nourlangie Rock where you will have a guided tour of the well preserved galleries of Aboriginal rock art. On the return trip to Darwin, view giant termite mounds and stop at Window on the Wetlands for a glass of wine with views over the floodplains.
