Kia Ora welcome - Let a Kiwi specialist and winner of the 2007 Kiwi Specialist of the Year Award help you plan your dream holiday.

This country is 1000 miles long with beautiful scenery everywhere you look. No one is more than 75 miles from a beach. It spans latitude 36 to 45 degrees. The West Coast has black sand beaches and the East Coast has white. The landscape is a mixture of Scandinavia, Switzerland, Austria and Scotland all rolled into one. Three and a half million people live there, and sixty million sheep. Three million residents live on the North Island and 500,000 on the South Island. The Maori people total l6% of the residents.

It takes 10 ½ hours from the West Coast. 3 meals, 4 movies and a nap.

The hiking, fishing and golf are among the best in the world. There are more golf courses per capita than anywhere else. Ive paid green fees from $5 but the average is around $40 U.S. Very reasonable and lovely courses. The first settlers were from Scotland and England and you were selected to emigrate, there were no convicts.

A two day farm stay is a wonderful experience and the Kiwis (slang for a New Zealander) are delighted to welcome you into their homes. This is one of the few countries in the world I recommend you renting a car. It is safe, easy driving, with mostly two lane roads and little traffic. This is a good destination to rent a campervan also.

There are 13 luxury lodges to choose from in spectacular locations. There is also an excellent choice of bed and breakfast homes, small hotels and large hotels in the cities.

The South Island my favorite part of the land. It reminds me of home, the Western Highlands of Scotland. If you take the ferry and pick up a car in Picton, go take a Green Mussel cruise and stay in the Nelson area which has 350 arts and craft shops to visit. Nice cathedral, and good restaurants. Visit the Wearable Art Museum and the antique car collection.

Abel Tasman National Park is a great place for hiking and sea kayaking. You can take organization walks from here.

There is also a walk called the Queen Charlotte Track, in the Malborough Sound area. Your luggage is taken by boat and you walk with your rucksack each day.

The North Island of New Zealand is warm, with scenery ranging from sandy beaches, through rolling farmland to active volcanic peaks. Although it is smaller than the South Island, it is more populous, with half of the New Zealand population living north of Lake Taupo, in the middle of the island.
