This is a very shallow river meandering thru the city. I would guess it is about 2 feet in depth. Very pretty banks, flowers and lovely trees. Go into Hagley park and take a punt. Only other place I have ever punted is at Cambridge University, in England, where my sister is a professor.

You have a very friendly Kiwi young man beautifully dressed in straw hat, anxious to take you down the river. Nice lazy way to see the park. Then you can rent a bicycle and see the rest of the park.
