In order to provide a check and balance for your firm’s airfare purchases, AHT recommends the use of a central airfare-billing program.These programs are designed for the sole use of airline ticket purchases only through travel agencies.
The following is a brief overview of the features and benefits of these programs:
- Airline billing programs that do not use individual credit cards are available through the following companies.American Express, Master Card, Visa, and Diners Club/Air Travel Card.
- The following benefits can be realized through implementation of an airfare only billing program:(Services may vary depending upon card program utilized)
- FLOAT … Bottom line advantage of up to 60 days float on purchases of airline tickets (The average float period is 52.5 days)
- EFFICIENCY … Provides the convenience of central billing for all corporate airline ticket purchases, with the flexibility of sub-accounts to track spending to departments and individual employees or projects
- IMMEDIATE CREDIT ON UNUSED AIRLINE TICKET COUPONS … Eliminates the waiting periods for refunds, which typically can be 90 days or longer
- COMPREHENSIVE MONTHLY MANAGEMENTS REPORTS … Provides control on airline travel expenses and easy-to-read reports which could save hours of administrative time
- AUTOMATIC TRAVEL ACCIDENT INSURANCE COVERAGE … Covers death or dismemberment on any common carrier.Supplemental insurance is available for an extra cost
- EXCESS LOST BAGGAGE INSURANCE … Provides substantial protection in the event of lost or stolen baggage.Please note, personal or corporate credit cards would be required to guarantee late arrival
